Interior Architecture in Geneva: Complete Guide 2026
Thinking of transforming your interior in Geneva? Here's everything you need to know to bring your project to life in 2026.

Why hire an interior architect in Geneva?
When I founded Maison Kawa, after seven years at Maison Dupin 1820 and my training at the Lausanne Hotel School, I held a deep conviction: every space tells a story. Your story.
In Geneva, we are fortunate to live in a city where architectural heritage sits alongside modernity. From the Haussmann-style buildings of Eaux-Vives to the contemporary constructions of Lancy, every neighbourhood has its character. It is this richness that makes our profession so exciting - and so demanding.
An interior architect doesn't decorate - they transform. They take your dreams, your constraints, your budget, and translate them into a space that reflects who you are. A space where every detail has been designed for your comfort and well-being.
The 3-phase process: my methodology
After years of practice, I have developed a structured approach that reassures my clients while guaranteeing results that meet their expectations.
Phase 1: The conceptual study (2 to 4 weeks)
This is my favourite moment. The one where everything begins. During our first meeting - always at your home, in the space to be transformed - I listen to you. Truly. Your habits, your desires, what frustrates you about your current home, what you secretly dream of.
From this conversation emerge the first sketches, mood boards, and artistic direction for your project. This is where the magic happens: transforming words into images, sensations into materials.
Phase 2: The detailed project (3 to 6 weeks)
Once the direction is approved, we move into the concrete. Execution plans, precise specifications, material and finish selections, tender processes with craftsmen. Every element is specified with absolute rigour.
It is during this phase that my experience at Dupin 1820 comes into its own. I know the craftsmen, the suppliers, the pitfalls to avoid. I know how to negotiate the best terms and guarantee impeccable quality.
Phase 3: Site supervision (variable)
Theory meets practice. I coordinate the work, verify compliance, manage the unexpected (because there always is some). Until handover, I remain your primary point of contact.
How much does an interior architect cost in Geneva?
This is the question I am asked systematically. And I understand: before committing, you want to know where you stand.
The truth is that there is no single fee. Every project is different. A complete renovation of a 100m² apartment in Eaux-Vives has nothing in common with fitting out an office in Carouge or transforming a villa in Cologny.
What I can tell you:
- The initial consultation is free and without obligation
- My fees are transparent and detailed from the start
- Together we define a realistic budget, including a margin for the unexpected
Geneva's neighbourhoods: each with its character
Eaux-Vives and Champel Prestigious buildings, apartments with beautiful volumes, period parquet floors to preserve. Here, the challenge is often to modernise without denaturing. To bring contemporary comfort while respecting the soul of the place.
Plainpalais and Jonction More bohemian, more creative. The apartments are often more unusual, with configurations that demand inventiveness. It is a wonderful playground for those who love challenges.
Carouge Geneva's Little Italy has tremendous charm. Its colourful buildings, inner courtyards, village atmosphere. Working in Carouge means embracing this art of living.
Cologny, Vandœuvres, Conches Villas and detached houses dominate. Projects here are often more ambitious, with budgets to match. But what creative freedom!
How to choose your interior architect?
My most sincere advice: trust your instinct. Beyond diplomas and portfolios, what matters is the human relationship. You will spend months working together, making important decisions. The connection must be there.
Ask questions. Ask to see completed projects, to speak with former clients. Check that the architect's style matches your taste - or that they know how to adapt.
And above all, beware of promises that sound too good. A serious professional will talk about the difficulties, realistic timelines, and honest budgets. That is how beautiful projects are born.
Do you have an interior architecture project in Geneva? Contact me for a first conversation, with no obligation. I look forward to discovering your vision.
